The Story of BruthaEvery Expert Was Once a Beginner Brutha is a quintet comprised of blood brothers who at an early age, discovered they shared a love for music. Under the guidance of their father, Grady, Anthony, Jared, Papa, and Jake honed their musical capabilities into fine tuned vocal instruments. Studying the elements of groups such as the Jackson 5, Temptations, New Edition, Boys II Men, and Jodeci, they took the features that made those groups great and added their own original flair, creating the sound that is Brutha. Sharing determination to turn a dream into reality, Brutha pursued all avenues allowing them to express their talents and passion for music, until the unambiguous dedication displayed caught the attention of their now manager, Donnie “Drano” Harrell. With his leadership, Brutha landed an audition for the Senior Vice President of Def Jam, Shakir Stewart. Captivated by their raw talent, he decided to believe in the vision that Brutha has to become the biggest R&B group that the world has ever seen, and immediately signed Brutha to the Island Def Jam Music Label. Taste of Bittersweet Success After
landing their record deal, Brutha wasted no time getting to work on
their debut album, pulling in some of the biggest songwriters and
producers of the industry, including Ne-Yo, Jazze Pha, R.L. Huggard, and
Elvis Williams, to name a few. Brutha was even given a hit reality
series called Brothers
The Grind Continues While working on the follow up to their debut album, Brutha experimented with several sounds and realized they were onto something great! So great in fact, that they didn’t want their fans to wait much longer to hear the sound that Brutha was re-cultivating. With that decision made, it dawned the release of the on-line mixtape titled Destination: Short Stay. This sensually based mixtape contains several radio worthy originals along with well covered, popular remakes. The fellas also loaned their signature steez to the remixing of a few top 10 hits as well, such as Drake’s "Over," Snoop Dogg’s "I Wanna Rock," and label mate Ludacris' "How Low." Managing to keep their fans entertained and in anticipation of what’s to come, the men of Brutha decided it was time to fill a Vacancy!
Fun, Sex, Love, or All The Above Vacancy is the title of the forthcoming release from Brutha and is slated to be one of the hottest releases of the year. Grady, Anthony, Jared, Papa, and Jake chose Vacancy as the album title because they are opening hotels all around the world for beautiful ladies to check in to have fun, sex, love, or all the above. For this LP, the brothers decided to stick with the homegrown production skills of The Madd Scientist. They also utilized the diverse writing styles of Ryan Toby, Johntá Austin and R. Kelly to top the list. The single leading "The Vacancy Movement" is "Sex-a-holic (Can’t Get Enough)," penned by Eric Hudson. The seductive mid-tempo groove describes the state of being addicted to the sexual affections of your significant other. Vacancy will perfectly fit into the musical collection of anyone looking for fun, sex, love or all of the above. In a time where there is a void in the male R&B group scene, Brutha more than fills the Vacancy! |
